July 8
Brasilia, the day Brazil lost. This is just before the game is about to start.
July 9
The view behind me at the bar during the Argentina Holland game. Ducked away at half time to snap it this one.
July 10
Sky. Ceiling. CCBB.
July 11
Red. Yellow. Orange. Green.
July 12
June parties in July. Fried prawn skewers are a real treat.
July 13
Kids have a kick during the world cup final in Brasilia.
July 14
Possibly the worst place to stay in Rio. Construction on either side of the hotel which starts at around 6:30am… though the breakfast buffet was incredible.
July 15
Jennie, Katarina and Teresa weren’t convinced a boat ride around the harbour in Paraty would be fun… a little arm twisting later and here we are! I think it was almost one of the highlights! An incredible view, beautiful weather and lovely company! What more could you want?
July 16
Joe, or “Crazy Joe” as we ended up calling him was our Jeep Tour guide around Paraty. There are amazing waterfalls all around this area and some of them are smooth enough to slide down. The more daring locals will surf all the way down them on their feet. Here is Crazy Joe putting on a show for the tourists!
July 17
A rainy day at the Foz do Iguaçu airport. It wasn’t looking promising for our visit to the water falls the next day but then….
July 18
Sunshine and rainbows! Warm enough to dry us off after we ventured out onto the boardwalk.
July 19
Itaipu Dam, the worlds largest hydro electric project.
July 20
Afternoon rays penetrate the van on the way to Bonito.
July 21
On this day a monkey stole my glasses. I was enjoying myself a little too much on a flying fox over a fresh water lake when they disappeared… Then I took this photo. I spent the following week wearing my sunglasses at night.
July 22
The main street of Bonito.
July 23
Cattle grazing in the wet lands of Pantanal. Somehow snapped this one while on horseback and didn’t fall off. A little shout out to Emma for keeping my grumpy horse calm.
July 24
Carmen, Emma, Mum and Richard. Happy campers?
July 25
Flying back to Rio from Campo Grande.
July 26
Hayley and Carmen translate ingredients on a variety of cold medicines… I left the pharmacy with a good assortment of products!
July 27
CCBB Rio. Snapped this during the 1 hour wait to get into the Salvador Dali exhibition. Definitely worth it.
July 28
This little guy and his mates ambushed us while we were hiking up to Christ The Redeemer. Had to give him a few little snacks for his efforts.
July 29
Rio from Rocinha. It is amazing that some of the favellas have the best views. Christ the Redeemer on the left and Sugar Loaf on the right.
July 30
Boat, Bridge or Plane, three ways in to Rio.
The view of Rio from Niterói at the Teatro Popular Oscar Niemeyer. Everyone says the best thing about Niterói is the view of Rio… but there are definitely some other awesome things to see and do there!
July 31
This little bar/restaurant was the perfect place to hang on my first night in Curitiba sharing a beer with the lovely lady in red.
August 1
The view from the Polish gardens. The beautiful Carolina playing along for the 4th time in my daily photograph project!
August 2
Children (and adults alike) play in an interactive installation at Museu Oscar Niemeyer.
August 3
Sunday Brazilian BBQ with these lovely ladies!
August 4
Shade and shadows.
August 5
After a little searching we finally found this amazing park. Besides a few pregnant women wanting to have photos taken showing off their bellies it was pretty peaceful. A little picnic while we soaked up some sun was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Huge thanks again to the gorgeous Carolina for yet again being my model =D
August 6
Nubia, Cintia and Raiane. Call now.
August 7
Night time football on the beach in Copacabana.
August 8
This man had some real style for someone living on the streets… He walked around with real swagger. I only realised after taking the photo that he had just been browsing a store that sold hunting knives and guns.
August 9
Dubai Airport.
August 10
Emirates safety briefing on the way to Melbourne.
August 11
Order of business: 1. Coffee. 2. Get car started. Didn’t get her going on this occasion but some Start Ya Bastard sorted her out the next day.
August 12
When I left for Brazil Henry was a little puppy. In the space of 3 months he grew so much it is tough picking him up! He doesn’t like playing the “sit still so I can take a photo” game so much though.
